Ethan Marcotte is a famous web designer. Ethan Marcotte is an independent web designer and author renowned for coining and popularizing “responsive web design” (RWD) in 2010. He revolutionized the industry by introducing a flexible design approach that allows websites to automatically adapt to various screen sizes, from mobile phones to desktop monitors.

Ethan Marcotte wrote the definitive books on the topic: Responsive Web Design and Responsive Design: Patterns and Principles, shaping how developers approach web flexibility. In a 2010 A List Apart  article, Marcotte coined the term “responsive web design,” defining a new, flexible standard for the modern, multi-device internet. He has consulted for high-profile clients, including The Boston Globe, New York Magazine, People Magazine, and the Sundance Film Festival.
